A Hopeful Case: Let the food be the cure! | 04 March 2016

How would you feel if your 4 years old boy was diagnosed with Autism? Devastated? Sad? Well, that’s how the mother of Ben was feeling. She was totally shocked! Especially that it was at a time when people weren’t that aware of Autism!

What she thought was incurable, was cured thanks to the advice:” Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food”.

The mother paid most attention to her kid’s diet. Since Autism has been highly related to gastrointestinal issues, she got picky about what her son eats. She, first, eliminated gluten and casein from his diet, such as anything made with wheat (like white flour) and dairy products (contain casein) and anything made with these products. The healthier Ben’s diet was, the better he was getting. His parents would notice an improvement in his condition overnight! One night he wouldn’t look at them, the next day he’s making eye contact and smiling at them!

Ben got to grow up healthy and happy which made his parents and family happy too! But always remember, there is no one-size-fits-all cure for autism, each kids is different and has his own treatment. As I always say, look for the signs and never ignore them!
